Description

Located at Pariser Platz, next to the Brandenburger Gate. This apparently discreet building was designed in 2000 by architect Frank O. Gehry.
The building has 2 facades, one facing Pariser Platz and the other facing the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.
From the outside this is probably Frank Gehry's most modest building, his characteristic play of forms happens in the interior courtyard where, among straight and heavy columns, a giant  curvy shell of titanium stands surrounded by a glass wavy roof and floor.

When to go

You can go inside the lobby and see the interior courtyard during normal working hours. Sometimes the bank building is closed during special events without notice, so don't be so disappointed if you can't get inside, and still you can peak through the windows as see some of the interiors.

How to get there

S Bahn and U Bahn 55 station "Brandenburger Tor" are the closest.
The facade of the bank, from where you can see the main interior volume, faces Pariser Platz. To see the other facade you have to go around through the Brandenburger gate.
  • Pariser Platz 3, 10117 Berlin, Germany
